Boston Herald: Junk-fax suit settled
“…Lakeville’s Olde Stone Land Survey Co. will pay $1.3 million to end a class-action lawsuit alleging it sent tens of thousands of faxes promoting its title services, primarily to Bay State lawyers.
…Junk faxes have been prohibited since the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act took effect in 1992, with each violation carrying a $500 penalty.”
